Technology

Motorola has resurrected its beloved Razr phone by deciding to launch it in December 2019. As expected, due to tremendous consumer Demand Company has agreed to extend the Presales booking date to 26 January 2020. The new Razr mobile distinguishes itself from other foldable phones like Galaxy fold and Huawei’s Mate X; as these phones were folding on the Horizontal side were in Razr, it comes with the vertical folding. This is an awe-inspiring technical feat not just because Motorola took the classic eraser design and updated it with a foldable display but the hinge mechanism that drives this display. That makes it possible and feels clever when you open and close the phone. By seeing the popularity of the mobile, the YouTube channel “PBKreviews” decided to do the teardown repair video before it becomes available in the market. It tells its users that you have to heat the back of the phone so you can loosen up the adhesive underneath the backplate.

After loosing up the adhesive, you have to use plastic pry tools so that it can not damage the frame. Now one needs to get in between the plastic back and the structure of mobile to open backplate. After removing the back we have to use the tools to remove the 44 screws. After removing the screws and a few cables that are attached underneath the board, carefully slide the bottom cover off. This cover consists of an antenna assembly and the loudspeaker. Then there is a bracket that covers the connector of the battery. After removing the bracket, we can disconnect the battery cable and remove the battery.

After removing a few more cables and the screws, we can lift the mainboard slide out a little bit and flip it over to remove some more cables that have been attacked between the mainboard and the display. The PBKreviews say that the teardown was far from easy and not repairable by most of the people.
