Adobe is Set to Buy Medium, a VR Tool for Movies and Video Games

Reportedly, Adobe is acquiring Oculus Medium, a 3D virtual reality modeling tool. Initially, Facebook launched the app in 2016. It is a software that is often used in video games and filmmaking. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had purchased Oculus for $2 billion in 2014 after gaining approval from the FCC. Notably, from the acquisition, both companies operate separately. Well, the latest acquisition deal is not going to change things for users. According to a post from Oculus, the Medium will be freely available for the users of the Oculus VR System. Medium said Adobe is one of the prominent model software companies across the globe. Even more, Adobe is famous for offering top-notch immersive and 3D tools for developers.

Medium said that Adobe would introduce more features, innovations, and other advancements to Oculus Medium in 2020. Medium had arrived in the market as a famous art tool. On the other hand, Oculus has noted that many concept artists, game developers, and other best Adobe customers have used the VR tool. Sébastien Deguy, Adobe’s 3D and impressive content head, says the VR tool will enhance Substance, Adobe’s current 3D texturing app. Still, the tech giants have not revealed terms of the acquisition deal. Oculus also said they couldn’t have done this without the energy and talent from this incredible community. Well, the VR authoring tool said they are extremely stirred for the new episode.

As a part of the acquisition deal, some employees of the Oculus Medium team will migrate to Adobe. Deguy said they welcome this world of brilliant brains with high passion. Even more, the executive added the company would confirm integrity in the way they presently access and undergo the tool. On the other hand, Adobe has been gradually increasing efforts to place itself in top suppliers of augmented and virtual reality tools. One of the recent attempts of Adobe includes the launch of Aero, an add on to Creative Cloud, at its annual Max conference. In the case of Medium, it depends on Adobe, where it takes the tool in the upcoming year or how heavily it appends Medium into its widespread creative suit.
